Part Time Youth Services Library Assistant
The Alexandria-Monroe Public Library is seeking a part time Youth Services Library Assistant. Under guidance and direction of the Youth Services Manager, the responsibilities of this position include program and outreach implementation requiring creativity and strong organizational/time management skills, routine clerical, reference and customer service activities, and promotion of library services to the community. This is a part time (25 hours) position with some evening and weekend hours.
The Alexandria-Monroe Public Library is a small library with grand ambitions. It consistently ranks first among class C libraries in per capita checkout rates. Join a team of creative staff who are willing to try new things, innovate and explore.
Graduation from a college or university and ability to achieve Librarian 6 certification preferred but not required. Experience with children and children’s programming in a school, library or daycare strongly preferred. Salary starting at $9 an hour depending on qualifications. Paid leave included.
